Pastor Kim Meyers rightly describes parenting as imperfect people seeking shades of perfection in themselves and their children. I recommend this book to all parents.

Parenting with Perspective is the bet friend a parent can have for the ages, stages, and situations of being a parent. Kim Meyers gives us the gifts of her down-to-earth, honest, and spot- on expertise with her 'I am with you in this' style.

When I read this book, I kept thinking of how much I had needed a book just like this when my kids were younger - a book that named my fear of not being 'enough' for this huge job of parenting and that reassured me that I could do it!

Grace, Forgiveness and Taking care of you

This isn't a "How to book" on parenting but more of a best friend when things go wrong or you don't know where to turn. The definition of perspective is a way of regarding situations or topics etc. Kim provides different insights into how to look at a situation from both a parent perspective and a child perspective. Kim's 5-5-5 mantra applies to just about any type of relationship - parenting, friendships, life partners or even work relationships. Life moves fast and it can be hard to determine if what is happening in the moment is really as "life changing" as it appears so stop and ask yourself ... will this matter in 5 minutes? Will this matter in 5 days? Will this matter in 5 weeks, 5 months, 5 years. Then determine next steps based off your gut reaction to those questions. The other piece of advice from Kim's book is the importance of taking care of you. If you don't take care of you, then you have nothing to give anyone else. My worse parenting memories are when I overreacted due to being overly stressed out and not taking time for myself to stay focused on the bigger picture.

Tells it Like It Is

Sometimes it takes another parent to honestly tell it like it is - which is why I love this book so much. Parenting at any stage can be so much harder than you expect it to be, and there is so much stress that comes with being one. This compassionate, totally non-judgmental book, is just what every parent in the thick of it needs. It made me feel that what I experienced as a parent was normal; even the things I never thought other people would be experiencing. This book is a relatable reminder letting you know that it's okay to be the "Worlds OKest" parent. It also does a great job of reassuring you that you're not a bad parent and you're not alone. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!
