Jonathan serves as the Lead Pastor for Christ Harbor Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he, his wife Lindy, and their teenage son relocated from the metro Atlanta area two years ago. A fifteen-year veteran of the banking industry before following God’s call into ministry, he holds degrees in Finance and Leadership, is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, and is currently completing his doctoral dissertation at Regent University. Jonathan is passionate about leading with vision in order to help others realize their unique God-given purpose, and cultivating a deep faith rooted in historic Christian teaching and practice.
Jonathan Lawson is the senior pastor of Christ Harbor Church, a Global Methodist congregation in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A native of Metro Atlanta, Jonathan and his family moved to Tuscaloosa in 2023. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, and is currently completing his doctoral dissertation in Renewal Theology at Regent University. Jonathan spent 15 years in the banking industry before entering ministry and has both a degree in Finance and Masters of Business Administration. He has served in three other churches in North Georgia, including Mt. Bethel Church where he was Executive Pastor, and Mount Pisgah Church as Pastor of Global Missions. Jonathan's passion is to see the church fully mobilized to share the truth of Christ with the world, through intentional discipleship, teaching, and deep spiritual formation. He believes everyone is created on purpose, with a purpose that can only be known and lived through Jesus Christ. His vision for the church is a community of believers called to help each one discern their calling, be equipped for that ministry, and empowered to walk in it.
